The Olde English District’s Ultimate Gift Guide

The Olde English District’s

Ultimate Gift Guide

Santa is coming to town, but he could use some help picking out gifts for your friends and family. Here in the Olde English District, there are shops for everyone — from the outdoor enthusiast to the treasure hunter.

To help you map out your shopping spree, we compiled a few places throughout our region to find gifts for a variety of people. You’ll be sure to find a little something for all your loved ones on this year’s shopping list. And you may even need to buy a few gifts for yourself.

For the gearhead and/or fashionista…

When shopping for the fashion-lover or gearhead, there are apparel and accessory stores in just about every city in the region, from Fort Mill to Camden. Lancaster’s Preppy Pineapple Boutique is an award-winning women’s shop that favors classic and timeless styles with a modern twist. Chic Boutique Old Town, located in Rock Hill’s historic downtown, offers apparel, handmade shoes and jewelry, all for a variety of occasions and seasons. On the other side of the region, PinkStable, a locally owned and female-operated boutique in historic Camden, is the place to shop for classic Southern pieces for women of all ages.

In Chester County, Broad River Mercantile is chock-full of high-quality outdoor apparel and gear. Sunglasses, footwear, fishing gear, grills, cookers and more — this store has it all for any outdoor enthusiast.

For the DIYer or home fixer-upper, there are plenty of stores to choose from. Located in Rock Hill, The Hickory Post is several stories full of goods, featuring hand-selected artwork, furniture and home accessories. For an old-school experience, Ruff Hardware is a hub for unique tools and hardware, new and old. The business has been around since about 1840, presenting a sense of small-town charm and nostalgia.

For the antiquer…

Gift someone a hard-to-find collectible by shopping at one of the many antique stores in the Olde English District. Peruse Menagerie Antiques & CollectiblesSterling Fox and Camden Antiques Market, all located in Camden. Just down the road in Ridgeway, Cotton Yard Market, a vendor market, sells vintage items, collectibles, antiques and more. Or head to Cheraw for the day to hunt down treasures at L&M Antiques.

For the foodie…

Give your foodie friends something unique this holiday season from local farms and shops. Fort Mill’s Puckerbutt Pepper Company is home to the world’s new hottest pepper, Pepper X. As a spicy pepper expert, Puckerbutt offers flavorful artisan sauces for those who can handle the heat. (Pro tip: Gift packages are also available for purchase.)

Also in Fort Mill is The Peach Stand, a specialty food store. Here you can expect to find fresh and locally grown produce and a local foods section packed with gourmet items. Wild Bees Bottle Shop in neighboring Chester County is a great spot for 21+ stocking stuffers and Cotton Hills Farm offers a variety of farm-fresh goods like grits and jams.

For just about anyone…

Everyone has that one friend or family member who can be impossible to shop for. Thankfully, the Olde English District is home to several one-stop shops for all sorts of gifts. The Mercantile in Rock Hill sells everything from home goods to plants to clothing. (Pro tip: Grab a seasonal warm beverage from Jackass Café and Wine Bar attached to the shop to fuel up.)
