LibraryCon at York County Library
The Main Branch of the York County Library is hosting its 6th LibraryCon on Saturday, May 16th from 11:00am-6pm. This Free, Family Friendly event is open to all ages and will host multiple different activities as well as fandom vendors.
This free family event kicks off the Summer Learning Challenge! The event will host award winning authors April Henry, Danielle Paige, K.E. Lewis, and Kimberly Wilson at author panels and signings. Bring a book to be signed or purchase a copy on site from Liberty Book Company. The event will also host a discussion on The Wizard of Oz with local expert and author, Dina Massachi.
A cosplay contest will be held for multiple age groups and hosted by Nerd.0. with monetary rewards! There is also a vendor hall with fandom items and art for sale. Free children’s crafts, a scavenger hunt, face painting, Princess Storytime and the Soap Bubble Circus will also be available. The Charlotte Gaymers will have multiple gaming platforms available. Food trucks will be available on site. The first 100 attendees will receive a free gift. Last year’s event had over 1,500 attendees!
