Independence Day at Historic Brattonsville

Celebrate America’s 250th anniversary during this special Living History Saturday and experience how Independence Day was celebrated in the Carolina Piedmont during the 1850s. This event is included with general admission.

On-Going Activities:
• 19th-century refreshments and “libations”
• 19th-century toys and games
• Writing with quill pens

Timed Activities:
• Hot air balloon launches — 11 a.m. & 2 p.m.
• “Patriotic Musings” at the Oak Grove Stage featuring readings and guest-led toasts from America’s founding documents — Noon & 3 p.m.
• Brattonsville Site Tour — 1 p.m.

Guests are encouraged to bring a family-friendly drink for the patriotic toasts or pick one up in the Gift Shop.
