Catawba and Cherokee American Revolution Symposium

The Catawba and Cherokee American Revolution Symposium is a two-day program exploring the history and experiences of Native American communities during the American Revolution. The program has come together through partnerships with the Native American Studies Center, Catawba Cultural Center, and Elizabeth Hutchinson Jackson DAR.

Friday’s activities are free and open to the public.

12:00–1:00 p.m. — “Unearthing Fort Rutledge”
Dr. Joshua Catalano will present “Unearthing Fort Rutledge.”

5:00–7:30 p.m. — Welcome Reception
The evening will include Jonah Trimnal’s presentation, “Mapping Catawba Movement During the American Revolution,” from 6:00–6:30 p.m. The reception is graciously sponsored by Nutramax.

Saturday, September 26

Bradley Building at USC Lancaster
476 Hubbard Drive, Lancaster, SC

Registration is required for Saturday’s program. Registration is $40 plus service fees and includes breakfast and lunch.
