Brewed in Defiance at the Revolutionary War Visitor Center
Raise a cup in the spirit of revolution during a special coffee tasting at the Revolutionary War Visitor Center.
Darren Jones, owner of White Blossom Coffee, will explore how coffee became a drink of defiance in the British colonies following protests against the Tea Act of 1773. Guests will learn how changing something as simple as what colonists drank became a quiet form of protest.
The program also includes tastings of several coffees from White Blossom Coffee, a local roaster based in the Olde English District, connecting Revolutionary-era history with a modern regional maker.
