Experience Veteran-Led Farms Across the Region
Agriculture, artistry, and patriotism come together during the first statewide Farms of the Brave Ag + Art Tour, a unique experience celebrating South Carolina’s veteran-led farms and the people behind them. Held Memorial Day weekend, this free self-guided tour invites visitors to explore farms owned and operated by veterans and military families across the state. There are 19 farms participating in the tour, with 8 located in the Olde English District.

Meet the Farms of the Olde English District

Baker Farm — Rock Hill
Baker Farm is a first-generation family farm in Rock Hill, South Carolina. The farm specializes in heritage-breed, dual-purpose sheep valued for both their wool and their role in sustainable farming practices. Through hands-on experiences and community engagement, Baker Farm shares its knowledge of sheep care, traditional fiber arts, and heritage livestock with visitors of all ages.

Black Walnut Farmstead — Sharon
Black Walnut Farmstead is a working agritourism farm dedicated to hands-on education, sustainable living and nature-based experiences. Visitors can meet alpacas, goats, chickens and bees while learning about fiber arts, homesteading and traditional farm practices.
The farm offers guided tours, demonstrations such as weaving and sawmill work, and opportunities for meditation and quiet reflection in nature. Guests can also visit the farmstead store and enjoy herbal teas and locally made goods.

Crazy Chic Heritage Farm — Ridgeway
Crazy Chic Heritage Farm (CCH Farm) is a first-generation family farm in the Midlands of South Carolina. The farm raises Dexter cows, Kune Kune pigs and a variety of chickens while offering farm-fresh products including meat, eggs, chicks and chickens.
In addition to production agriculture, the farm provides educational classes, homesteading and farming workshops, and children’s camps designed to teach hands-on agricultural skills and encourage learning through farm experiences.

Davis Farm Healing Pines — Blair
Davis Farm Healing Pines in offers peaceful, healing-centered experiences rooted in nature and homestead living. The farm shares the beauty of its land through curated events, gatherings and educational experiences designed to connect visitors with the outdoors and one another.
Guests can explore the farm’s tranquil setting while learning about homestead life and enjoying thoughtfully created and curated products that reflect the spirit of the place the family calls home. From seasonal events to intentional moments in nature, Davis Farm Healing Pines offers a welcoming space for reflection, connection and community.

Granny Creek Homestead — Westville
Granny Creek Homestead is a farm in Westville, South Carolina, built from necessity and run with heart. The homestead began during a difficult season for the family and started with making goat milk soap for a child undergoing medical treatment, using milk from Nigerian Dwarf and Nubian goats.
Today, the farm raises animals, grows food and handcrafts goat milk soaps, lotions and other homestead goods. Visitors can meet dairy goats and American Guinea hogs, learn about milking and explore how farm life connects to handmade products.

J & E Homestead — Heath Springs
J & E Homestead is a fiber-focused farm and South Carolina mini mill specializing in custom yarns and handcrafted fiber products. The farm raises Huacaya alpacas, Angora goats, Angus cattle, Rex rabbits, poultry and honeybees.
In addition to livestock, J & E Homestead processes animal fiber on-site in its cottage mill, producing custom yarns and supporting traditional fiber arts. Visitors can shop handmade fiber goods and learn more about small-scale fiber production and farming practices.

Lavender Flair— Heath Springs
Lavender Flair is a mother-daughter lavender farm in Heath Springs, built from a shared vision to grow something beautiful, honest, and rooted in family. The farm is home to over 1,000 lavender plants, cultivated with care and a deep respect for the land.
The fields are never treated with herbicides or pesticides, allowing the lavender to grow naturally and supporting a healthier environment. This commitment continues through every product, made with clean, simple ingredients that reflect the purity of the farm. Lavender Flair is more than a farm, it’s a peaceful place centered on intentional living, where visitors can slow down and enjoy lavender grown with purpose.

Powell Farm/Historic Osborne Home & Plantation — Chester
Powell Farm is a preserved African American farm nestled in the scenic landscapes of Chester County, South Carolina. This historic property invites visitors to step into a bygone era and experience the charm and legacy of rural farm life.
Guests can enjoy a day filled with farm-made treats like honey, homemade chow chow, and ice cream, all crafted with ingredients from the land. The farm also offers riding tours that explore the old homestead, organic gardens, a country store, and a traditional molasses mill, bringing its rich history to life.
