Hebrews and She Bakes | Chester
Make your first stop in downtown Chester Hebrews and She Bakes, a community-focused café serving handcrafted espresso drinks, freshly baked pastries and a lineup that goes well beyond coffee. Settle in with a latte and something from the bakery, or switch things up with one of their dirty sodas.
What to try: The Dirty Blonde, a bestselling latte made with espresso, white chocolate, caramel and toffee.
Coffee on the Creek | Fort Lawn
Pull through Coffee on the Creek in Fort Lawn for a coffee stop that keeps things especially local. This drive-thru and walk-up shop proudly serves White Blossom Coffee, roasted right here in the OED. Pageland Coffee Company | Pageland
Slow down for a cup at Pageland Coffee Company, where coffee gets a little extra attention. Along with handcrafted espresso drinks, the locally owned shop offers pour-overs and French press coffee, plus its own PCC House Blend crafted especially for the café. Fresh pastries and treats made locally round out the menu.
What to try: Go with the PCC House Blend for something uniquely theirs, or turn the Salty Dog into an affogato for a sweeter take on your coffee stop.
Peace on Earth Consignment and Cafe | Winnsboro
There’s more than coffee waiting inside Peace on Earth in downtown Winnsboro. Part café and part consignment shop, it brings together owners Domenic and Mary’s love of food, community and a good find. Domenic grew up helping with his family’s catering business, while Mary spent 14 years working at an iconic South Florida restaurant. Today, they’ve brought that experience to Fairfield County with a café serving breakfast, lunch, baked goods and coffee.
What to try: Pair your coffee with one of their Gourmet Breakfast Sandwiches, then leave a little time to browse the consignment shop.
Books on Broad and Coffee | Camden
Give yourself time to browse at Books on Broad and Coffee, an independent bookstore and coffee shop in historic downtown Camden. The shelves are packed with an impressive selection of new, used and collectible books, including works by local authors, while the coffee shop makes it easy to settle in with a drink and stay awhile. It’s quiet, inviting and exactly the kind of place where you might come in for coffee and leave with your next read.
What to try: Order the Honey Lavender Latte, then browse the shelves while you sip.
American Patriot Coffee Company | Camden
Follow the smell of freshly roasted coffee to American Patriot Coffee Company in Camden’s Cultural District. As Kershaw County’s only coffee roastery, APC roasts its beans in-house and serves them alongside handcrafted lattes, homemade pastries and café favorites. The shop is owned by sisters Heather Bock, April Rodgers and Tara Boone, fourth-generation Camdenites who also bring treats and specialty foods from their Three Sisters Essentials kitchen to the menu.
What to try: Order a Dirty Chai, then add one of Three Sisters Essentials’ house-made scones or famous chocolate chip cookies.
Daily Grind Coffee Bar | Lancaster
Come for the coffee and stay for the vibe at Daily Grind Coffee Bar in Lancaster. With stylish décor, cozy chairs and plenty of inviting spots to settle in, the space is just as much a part of the experience as the drink in your hand. The menu covers everything from classic espresso drinks and cold brew to creative seasonal specials, frappés and colorful Red Bull Blasts.

Along with handcrafted coffee and signature lattes, this small-town café serves baked goods, lunch favorites and an ever-changing lineup of seasonal drinks. You’ll even find protein lattes and half-gallon lattes on the menu for a coffee order that goes well beyond the usual.
What to try: Try a hot or iced protein latte, made with espresso and vanilla protein for a coffee with a little something extra.
Elle Bell Cafe | Union
Settle in for a cup at Elle Bell Cafe in downtown Union, a cozy neighborhood coffee shop where community is part of the experience. Along with espresso drinks, frappuccinos and smoothies, the café serves its own organic peaberry Café Passion house brew. Local art and handmade goods fill the space, while a pay-it-forward board lets customers leave a coffee behind for someone else.

Knowledge Perk | Rock Hill
Born in Rock Hill, Knowledge Perk has built its name around really good coffee and the belief that “Friends Don’t Let Friends Drink Bad Coffee.” The local roaster carefully sources and roasts its own beans, from single-origin coffees and signature blends to limited releases featuring standout lots from around the world. They also work with universities and organizations to develop custom blends through a coffee tasting process, all served in a modern, energetic café that’s worth settling into for a while.
What to try: Keep it local with Garnet & Gold, a custom blend created for Rock Hill’s own Winthrop University.
The Roasting Route Coffee House | Fort Mill
Take a little detour at The Roasting Route, a nautical-themed coffeehouse tucked inside The Postal Route and Gifts by Sharon in Fort Mill. The cozy space pairs coffee with coastal-inspired décor, indoor and outdoor seating, and a gift shop made for browsing while you sip. Their coffee menu centers around Armando’s Blend, an award-winning, ethically sourced roast, alongside handcrafted espresso drinks, fresh pastries and light bites.

Techno Café | Rock Hill
Meet your barista. They just happen to be automated. Techno Café brings a completely different coffee experience to Rock Hill with an automated espresso system serving drinks inside a beautifully renovated mill. The industrial space is part of the fun, with soaring concrete columns, huge windows and plenty of room to settle in while technology handles your coffee order.

Olive’s Mud Puddle | Fort Mill
Come to caffeinate, create or do a little of both at Olive’s Mud Puddle in downtown Fort Mill. What began as a creative space in 2012 grew to include The Mud Puddle coffee shop, bringing local coffee, art and community together under one roof. Sip a latte while browsing work from local artists, or check the calendar for clay classes, gallery exhibits, live music and other creative events.

Southern Touch Bakery, Coffee Shop & Cafe | York
There’s plenty to tempt you beyond the bakery case at Southern Touch in downtown York. This laid-back café serves freshly ground coffee alongside a full lineup of espresso drinks, cold brew and coffee flights, plus made-from-scratch breakfast, lunch and baked goods. Grab a table inside, settle onto the patio or swing through the drive-thru if you’re taking your coffee to go.
