Carowinds Offers Season-to-Season Excitement

The Southeast’s favorite amusement park offers multi-season thrills for visitors. Carowinds, located in both Charlotte, NC and Fort Mill, SC, expanded its schedule in 2023 to provide nonstop fun throughout every season. However, as 2024 and beyond Carowinds no longer operates year round and is closed during the months of January and February.

Explore Carowinds: Rides, Events, and Attractions Almost Year-Round

During the summer months, visitors can enjoy access to Camp Snoopy kids’ area, Carolina Harbor Waterpark, and more than 60 rides, shows, and other attractions. 

In mid-September through October, the park transforms into SCarowinds, a stomping ground for goblins and ghouls. 

WinterFest, Carowinds’ immersive holiday event, historically begins in November and is open select nights through Christmas to wrap up the season. 

After all the holiday fun is over, the park will cease operations during January and February until reopening for spring festivities, where visitors can expect rides, dining, and other park activities during the expanded winter weekends.
