4 Spooktacular Spots to Visit

This Halloween Season

Boo! Spooky season is upon us, and the Halloween countdown is on. While some may prefer pumpkin patches and milder autumnal pastimes, others revel in the spine-tingling excitement of hair-raising thrills. That’s why we created a list of four spooktacular spots to visit in the Olde English District before November rolls around.

SCarowinds

SCarowinds, presented by Carowinds, located along the North Carolina-South Carolina state line, is arguably the largest Halloween event in the Carolinas, and it is back for another year of haunting. Every corner of the theme park is lined with horrifying haunted mazes, scare zones and live entertainment. Carowinds’ rides are also up and running during the evening’s event. SCarowinds will be open select nights until October 29, 2023. After a visit here, you’ll want to sleep with the lights on.

The 901 Nightmare

The 901 Nightmare is a long-standing outdoor haunted attraction in Edgemoore, South Carolina. Expect spooky clowns, goblins, and other horrific creatures lurking and waiting to scare whoever walks through the attraction. This is the final season this thrill will be open at the current location, and you won’t want to miss it (Open select nights from October 6 to October 29, 2023).

7th Annual Lanterns and Legends Walking Tour

Listen to mysterious stories and learn a bit of history at one of Fort Mill’s Annual events. The Fort Mill History Museum will present its 7th annual Lanterns and Legends walking tour. Start at the museum and end the excursion at Main & Academy streets in Fort Mill. This is a ticketed event that runs every Thursday, Friday and Saturday in October. Be sure to secure your place on the tour before arriving.

Haunted Chester Ghost Tours of the 1914 Jail

Do you still believe in ghosts? If not, you may just change your mind after a walk through the four-story 1914 Chester County Jail. Ghost tours and paranormal investigation tours will be offered on Friday, October 27, 2023 and Saturday, October 28, 2023. Reserve your spot so you don’t miss out on this spooky attraction.
