Pageland Watermelon Festival

Since its inception in 1951, the Pageland Watermelon Festival has been a cornerstone event in Pageland, initially established to celebrate the region’s predominant crop. Preserving its cherished traditions, the festival has evolved to include classic attractions such as watermelon-eating and seed-spitting competitions, a lively parade, a beauty pageant, and street dances. As the years have passed, the festival has grown in scope, now featuring additional highlights like a rodeo and car show.
