Join dressed interpreters for a living history program highlighting African American foodways and agriculture of the Carolina Piedmont in the 18th and 19th centuries. Cooking demonstrations and agricultural practices are presented, as well as guided tours, singing, storytelling and activities, offering insight and reflection on how to best preserve African American culture and history. Admission: $8 Adult, $7 Senior, $5 Youth, FREE for CHM members and children 3 and younger.

This site features over thirty colonial and antebellum structures, including two house museums. The plantation spreads over 800-acres and includes farmed land with heritage breed animals, a Revolutionary War battlefield site with interpretive trail, and a nature preserve with miles of walking trails. Seasonal events, reenactments, and living history programs interpret life in the Carolina Backcountry from the 1750s to the 1850s. Award-winning African American programs are an essential part of telling the story of the Carolina Piedmont. Also a site on the SC Ag + Art Tour. Open Tues–Sat: 10 am–5 pm and Sun: 1–5 pm, except New Year's Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Admission is charged. Limited handicap accessibility. I-77, exit 82-B.
