Vernon Grant's Winter Wonderland Exhibit

Grant’s favorite subject, Santa Claus, along with his whimsical gnomes, and published scenes of winter are featured in this exhibit. Explore Grant’s humorous art and share some laughter with friends and family as you peer into his depictions of this holiday season. Illustrator Vernon Grant is known for his ability to imagine and to create colorful and unique works of art. Armed with a paintbrush in hand and an idea in mind, Grant quickly brought playful thoughts to life as illustrations for all to enjoy. His gift of storytelling through art captured the attention of advertisers, companies and publishers. Grant’s illustrations appeared in print on the covers of national magazines, advertising products, greeting cards and children’s books from the 1920s through the 1970s. Exhibit available for viewing during regular gallery hours (Monday-Thursday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM | Friday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM; 2nd & 4th weekends each month, Saturday: 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM | Sunday: 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM). Runs through December 29, 2017.

Located in the Downtown Rock Hill Cultural District, this facility is housed in two restored 100-year old buildings. It also houses the offices of the Arts Council of York County, the Dalton Gallery, and the Perimeter and Edmund Lewandowski Classroom Galleries, and private artist studios. The Dalton Gallery features 7-8 exhibitions each year from local, regional, national and international artists, which are free & open to the public. Also offers space for workshops, receptions, special occasions, meetings and small performances.
