U.S. Navy Band

Monday, March 16, 2020 - 7:30pm until 9:30pm

The United States Navy Band, The Sea Chanters Chorus and the Cruisers embark on a joint national tour this Spring. As the original ensemble of the Navy Band, the Concert Band, has been performing public concerts and participating in high profile events for over 85 years. In 1956 a group from the Navy School of Music was organized to sing chantey's and patriotic songs for the State of the Nation dinner. An immediate success, the chorus was transferred to the Navy Band, and named the Sea Chanters. Formed in 1999, the Cruisers takes its name from the Navy's versatile, flexible, and multi-mission ship performing jazz, R&B, Pop, and Rock and Roll. Displaying military and musical excellence, the Navy Band entertains audiences at home and abroad preserving the nation's musical heritage. Admission is free, but tickets are required.
