Through the Camera's Eye: A Photographic Portrait of Camden's African American Community

Most of these images have never been featured in an exhibit or displayed publicly. This exhibit will include images collected through the museum's "Scan Days" and photographs from recently donated archival collections.  In the Whiteley Room.  Admission is free. Open for visitors during regular business hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm and Saturday 10:00 am - 4:00 pm. Exhibit runs through July 31, 2019. Additional images will be featured at the African American Cultural Center,  March 11 , 2019 through September 7, 2019. For more details about this event, please visit the website here.

Found here is a treasure trove of artifacts that encourage visitors to discover history, depth  and diversity of the region’s culture. The museum’s exhibits relate the stories of centuries past, while its archives is one of the state’s premier genealogical research facilities with material covering South Carolina and the Southeast. No paid researchers, but staff will do simple searches for a small fee. No admission fee. Open Mon-Fri: 8 am-5 pm, and Sat: 10 am-4 pm.
