**Suspended all programming temporarily** Nature Day Hike at the Blue Star Trail

Saturday, March 21, 2020 - 9:00am until 2:00pm

**Suspended all programming temporarily**

Over the course of the 7.2-mile Blue Star Trail at Anne Springs Close Greenway, we’ll pass lakes, farm fields, and forests; we’ll see wildlife and horses; we’ll even cross a swinging suspension bridge over Steele Creek! This day hike will be dense with beautiful sights and educational tidbits alike, from the long history of the preserve to its unique ecology. Make sure to pack a lunch or heavy snacks, as we’ll stop for a picnic along the way. The Ann Springs Close Greenway will provide a shuttle from one end of the trail to the other, and they have waived the normal $5 parking fee for this public program, though making a donation will further their efforts in extending their trail network. Currently, 1.4 miles of the Blue Star Trail is designated as a Thread Trail segment, with plans to connect ASCG to the rest of the Thread Trail system in the works.

Course: 7.2 miles on natural surface trails.

Find us: Meet at the Carolina Thread Trail tent and we’ll walk to the Persimmon Trail from there.
