Spider Lily Eco-Tour: At Peak Bloom!

Bring a boat and join us on the water! Paddle through the largest colony of Rocky Shoals Spider Lilies in the world with the Catawba Riverkeeper. There will be a brief stop in the middle of the spider lilies for a picnic (bring your own snack) and a short presentation about the ecology of the spider lilies. The tour allows participants to see and experience the magnificence of this endangered spicies. The rare flowers enter peak blooming period for only one month (early May to early June). This event is FREE to Catawba Riverkeeper Foundation members. There is a suggested donation of $25 per person for non-members. So, bring your own canoe/kayak, personal flotation device, a snack, water, camera and sunscreen and join us on the water! Don't have a boat? We have rentals available. The last of a dozen 19th century South Carolina river canals, Landsford Canal has all of its major features intact. The park has a trail along the canal and a Lockkeeper's house which contains interpretive exhibits on the canal system in South Carolina. 9 am-6 pm, daily. Park entrance fee charged for ages 6 and over.
