Celebrate the holiday season with traditions from the 18th and 19th centuries at Historic Brattonsville. This event features special scripted scenarios portrayed by historically dressed interpreters. The guided tours present how the holidays were celebrated in the Carolina Piedmont during the 18th and 19th centuries. Come enjoy fiddle music and dance alongside historically-dressed interpreters. Try candle dipping, listen to Christmas stories or have a warm drink by the campfire. New for this year and to ensure a quality experience, tours are by online reservation only. $10 per person. Limited availability. Make yours here now. CHM Members must reserve free online ticket with member ID. No registration required for children 3 and younger. Please note special information: Historic Brattonsville will be closed the day of the event until 3 p.m. Brattonsville Road will be closed from 2:30-9:30 p.m. Please look for and follow detour signs. This site features over thirty colonial and antebellum structures, including two house museums. The plantation spreads over 800-acres and includes farmed land with heritage breed animals, a Revolutionary War battlefield site with interpretive trail, and a nature preserve with miles of walking trails. Seasonal events, reenactments, and living history programs interpret life in the Carolina Backcountry from the 1750s to the 1850s. Award-winning African American programs are an essential part of telling the story of the Carolina Piedmont. Also a site on the SC Ag + Art Tour.
