"The Way We Worked" Smithsonian Traveling Exhibit

Saturday, July 29, 2017 - 8:00am until 11:45pm

The Smithsonian is coming to Chester! The City of Chester is pleased to host the Smithsonian Institution’s traveling exhibit, The Way We Worked which explores how labor became a central element of American culture by tracing the changes that have affected work and workers over 150 years in agriculture, merchant relations and textiles. Local program activities will take place throughout Chester County to tell Chester’s own stories about work history and heritage. The exhibit has been made possible in South Carolina by SC Humanities, and is a part of the Museum on Main Street Program, a collaboration between the Smithsonian Institution and state humanities councils nationwide. Support for Museum on Main Street has been provided by the United States Congress.

The events take place in Chester County June 24, 2017 through August 6, 2017 with varying dates, times and some on-going activities. Download the attached file for complete schedule of events.
