Liberty or Death! War in the Carolinas

This unique event features reenactments of three major battles fought in South Carolina--King’s Mountain, Camden and Eutaw Springs. These battles represent both Patriot and British victories. Over the two day event visitors will see cannons, mounted cavalry, uniformed British and American soldiers and militiamen take the field. Other activities include cannon and musket firing demonstrations, kids’ military drill, battlefield tours, special presentation, and hands on activities. Admission: Adult $10; Senior $8; Youth 4-17 $6; 3 and under & CHM members Free.

This site features over thirty colonial and antebellum structures, including two house museums. The plantation spreads over 800-acres and includes farmed land with heritage breed animals, a Revolutionary War battlefield site with interpretive trail, and a nature preserve with miles of walking trails. Seasonal events, reenactments, and living history programs interpret life in the Carolina Backcountry from the 1750s to the 1850s. Award-winning African American programs are an essential part of telling the story of the Carolina Piedmont. Open Tues–Sat: 10 am–5 pm and Sun: 1–5 pm, except New Years Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Admission is charged. Limited handicap accessibility. I-77, exit 82-B.
